Children’s Programmer - Town of Burlington, CT

Children's Programmer - The Town of Burlington is now accepting applications for a full-time Children’s Programmer. The Children’s Programmer is responsible for the planning and conducting of story times and various programs for preschool children through grade 4, providing outreach programming to the local preschools and the elementary school, and providing reader’s advisory for children and others. Experience with preschool children through grade 4 is essential as well as knowledge of children’s literature. The position will require creating displays and working with social media and Microsoft Office to promote the children’s library and its programs.
     Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and at least 3 years’ experience with children. Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) preferred.
     This is a full time, union position (37.5 hours per week) with benefits with two evening shifts a week and Fridays and Saturdays in rotation. The salary is $20.88/hour.
