Children's Librarian - The Terryville Public Library seeks a friendly, motivated and collaborative
Children’s Librarian for our active Children’s Room. Responsibilities
include: Planning, organizing and implementing innovative library
services to children, selecting materials consistent with the library’s
mission, working with school and local organizations to develop and
expand services, soliciting applicable grants, promoting early literacy
through goal-oriented programs, and encouraging each child’s development
to his or her potential.
Requirements: MLS from an ALA
accredited school preferred or the completion of degree within 5 years
of hire, knowledge of children’s literature and bibliographic tools,
understanding of library policies, goals and services, excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills, working knowledge of computer
applications for library services, and ability to work independently as
well as part of a team. STEM programming experience will be an asset.
Salary: $43,797 plus benefits, 35 hours per week (one evening and
occasional Saturdays).
