Assistant Librarian (P/T) - Fairfield Museum and History Center (http://www.fairfieldhistory.org),
Fairfield, CT. Schedule: 8-10 hrs/wk, including Saturdays and alternate
Sundays, 12-4. The Fairfield Museum and History Center invites
applications for the position of Assistant Librarian. This is a
part-time appointment with weekend hours, responsible for operating the
library and serving patrons during weekend hours, as well as assisting
with research inquiries. Responsibilities: Provide reference services in
person and by telephone; assist patrons in using library materials.
Monitor library facilities and environmental controls; reshelve books
and finding aids. Contribute to other library projects, such as
indexing, data entry, and organizing materials. Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS and/or MA degree in history or a related discipline.
Experience working with special collections or archives. Experience with
genealogical and historical research. Excellent interpersonal skills
and dedication to public service. Compensation: $26/hour. The Fairfield
