Children’s Program Manager - Pomfret Public Library

Children’s Program Manager - Pomfret Public Library. Summary: Develop, promote and present library programs for toddler, preschool and elementary age children. Responsibilities: Conduct toddler & preschool story times and after school programs. Prepare Summer Reading Program. Promote library programs and resources in the community. Represent library at relevant Pomfret Community School events. Work with librarian to schedule programs, arrange displays in children’s room, evaluate space, collection and resource needs. Keep supplies for children’s programs in order. Collect data (attendees, statistics, anecdotes, expenses) to support budget requests and make recommendations regarding future programming needs. Qualifications: Education and experience in the fields of early education, reading or library science preferred. Ability to work well with children of all ages, individually and in groups. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with parents, general public, associates. Creativity and initiative in devising programs and promoting them in the community. Hours: Part time, 15 hours/week, 40 weeks (Sept-June), Occasional evening and Saturday. Starting wage: $15.00/hour. Reports to: Library Director.
