Children's Paraprofessional - Richmond Memorial Library, Marlborough

Children's Paraprofessional - The Richmond Memorial Library in Marlborough, CT seeks a part time children's paraprofessional. This person will contribute to program planning and actively participate in story time, summer reading programs and other children's programs. The successful candidate must genuinely like children and young adults and be knowledgeable about library materials and services for these populations. Other duties required are generalist activities including reference assistance, circulation desk duties in an automated library setting and reader's advisory service. Computer literacy is expected and previous library experience, preferably with children and young adults, is required. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently enrolled in an ALA accredited MLS program and have experience with an automated library system, preferably SIRSI. Salary range is $16 to $18 per hour, approximately 15 hours per week. One night per week and one Saturday per month required.
