Access Services Librarian - Quinnipiac University, Hamden

Access Services Librarian - Full-Time, Administrative position. Arnold Bernhard Library, Quinnipiac University. The Access Services Librarian is responsible for the daily operations of the circulation, reserve, and periodicals public service functions of the Arnold Bernhard Library. The incumbent will have overall supervision of a staff consisting of one full-time administrative, two full-time clerical-technical, one part-time clerical-technical, and several casual/hourly employees. The Access Services Manager reports to the Associate Director of the Arnold Bernhard Library. Additionally, the Access Services Librarian will lead a team of professional and clerical-technical staff members in developing and implementing an electronic reserves resource (Quinnipiac University utilizes Blackboard course management software) and in investigating, developing, and implementing streaming video resources. The Access Services Librarian will work closely with the Automation Librarian monitoring, updating, and (as necessary) maintaining appropriate modules of Innovative Interfaces system. The Access Services Librarian will participate as a member of the Library's management team, provide service at the reference desk, and participate in outreach activities. Other duties, as assigned, may be added to the Access Service Librarian's responsibilities. Night and weekend hours are included varying from the fall/spring terms and the summer. Required qualifications: ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree. Experience with integrated library systems software. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Preferred Qualifications: Post M.L.S. academic library experience. Supervisory experience. Experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc. software.
