Director - Farmington Library. The Board of Trustees of the Farmington Village Green and Library Association, Farmington, CT are seeking a dynamic, energetic, creative and collaborative leader as Director of the Farmington Library consisting of a Main Library and one Branch, in a historic suburb 14 miles west of Hartford. That Farmington Library serves a population of 23,600 with an annual budget of over $2m, a staff of 30 FTE's with a commitment to excellent customer service, circulation of over 380,000 items annually, a collection of 181,000, consortium membership (LCL, Inc.-SIRSI), and an active Friends group. The Main Library was expanded and renovated to 48,000 sq ft in 2003; the Barney Branch, 8,000 sq ft was built in 1917. The Library was recently selected by Hartford Magazine as the best library in Greater Hartford for towns of similar size. The Board invites applications from experienced professionals with at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in library management and a MLS from an ALA accredited institution.
