Development and Library Association Assistant - Mark Twain Library

learning new skills and paying attention to detail? The Mark Twain
Library in Redding, CT has a part-time position for a candidate who is
comfortable establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
with library staff, volunteers and board. The Development Assistant
provides support for ongoing development activities such as gift
processing, donor record keeping, donor recognition and other
development efforts of the library. The position serves as the
liaison between donors and the library, fielding question, taking
electronic, paper and phone reservations, and assisting onsite at
fundraisers and special events and reservations. There is frequent
interaction with donors, potential donors and Friends of the Library as
well as event sponsors. Duties: Day to day duties include entering
data into eTapestry, running regular and ad-hoc reports. Acknowledging
gifts, pledges and in-kind donations and assuring records are accurate
and timely. Needed skills include demonstrated written and verbal
skills, strong basic math ability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Adroit at using eTapestry (or other
fundraising software) as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience working in a library or non-profit environment highly
desired. This is a part-time 20 hour per week position. Occasional
overtime will be required. You must be able to assist as required at
several weekend or weekday events and fundraisers each year. Salary
