West Haven Library seeks an energetic, technology-savvy, team player for a full-time, Assistant Director position. Reports directly to the Executive Director. This person is responsible for the scheduling of library staff and is in charge in the director’s absence. Assists the director in the planning, implementing and evaluating of library services. Coordinates bi-monthly newsletters to the public. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. Must have excellent technology skills and be current with library trends in technology, administration, and knowledge of the principles and practices of public library functions. Assists in library outreach, community relations and fundraising and attends meetings in the director’s absence. Requirements are an MLS from an ALA-accredited institution, familiarity with library administration, and 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Must have the ability to work occasional nights and weekends in rotation. This is a full-time, salaried position at 37.5 hours/week. Salary range is $55,000-$64,000 depending on experience.
