Library Assistant – Teen Services

Wilton Library is seeking an energetic, creative individual to assist the Teen Services & Makerspace Manager by maintaining collections, assisting patrons, training and working with teens and adults in our Makerspace, creating and supporting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs, and promoting our materials and services through social media. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have strong computer and technology skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and social media.  Desired attributes and skills include a customer service orientation, attention to detail and the ability to work well with other team members in a creative and vibrant environment. An interest in reading and familiarizing yourself with teen literature is a must.  A science background or demonstrated aptitude for STEM programs is desirable. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Library knowledge and/or experience working with teens are a plus.   Part-time, hourly position.  Mondays from 10-5, Wednesdays 3-8 and one Sunday a month from 1-5. The candidate should have the flexibility to work additional hours for special projects and fill in for other staff as necessary.  Hourly salary ranges from $15-$17 depending upon experience.
