The East Hartford Public Library is seeking a dedicated early childhood specialist with experience in libraries, education, or school settings to join our collaborative and innovative Children and Teen Services team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality services to young children and their caregivers, developing and implementing engaging programs, and building strong outreach connections with schools and community partners.
The East Hartford Public Library operates two newly renovated and expanded branches featuring bright, welcoming spaces designed for children and teens. Our staff work across departments to provide inclusive, community-centered programs and services for all East Hartford residents.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a senior librarian or library administrator.
This is a full-time 35-hour per week position including evening shifts. Educators and social service professionals are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in Spanish, are preferred.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSING: Master’s degree in library science or equivalent subject-relevant master’s-level degree from an accredited college.
