Salary: $39.21/hour (starting) - $51.17/hour (max)
The West Hartford Public Library, located in a vibrant and engaged community that celebrates diversity and maintains a welcoming atmosphere to all visitors, seeks an energetic and enthusiastic library professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for providing exemplary customer service. There will be a set schedule of daytime hours, and possible substitute shifts primarily evenings and weekends in any of our three library buildings. This position requires a complete and current knowledge of children's literature and a proficiency in performing reader's advisory and reference services to a sophisticated community of young readers ages infant through twelve years of age.
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of an ALA accredited master's degree in Library Science.
Preferred Qualifications: Library experience. Fluency in a language other than English spoken in the community. Familiarity with print and online resources. Knowledge of Polaris ILS. Excellent customer service skills.
