The Opportunity: The Town of Mansfield is hiring a full-time Library Associate. The ideal candidate will be an approachable and engaging individual who places a high priority on consistently exceptional public service. This position performs paraprofessional technical services work maintaining and developing a bibliographic database; maintaining financial records; formatting raw statistics for reports to librarians; operating the circulation desk; supervising the preparation of materials for circulation; providing assistance to library patrons as well as related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision and limited supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel and volunteers. Position reports to the Library Director, Assistant Library Director, or their designee, as assigned.
Total Compensation: The salary range is $27.85/hr ($50,882/yr) - $35.21/hr ($64,329/yr) as of July 1, 2026. The hiring rate of pay will depend upon the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This position is full-time with benefits. Work Schedule & Location: The selected candidate will be scheduled for 35 hours per week, with a four day work week. Incumbents will be required to work evenings and Saturdays as assigned to meet operational needs of the Department. The work location is the Mansfield Public Library, 54 Warrenville Road, Mansfield Center.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with certificate in library technology and some experience in library work or other work dealing with the public. Consideration will be given to equivalent experience, education and training.
