Derby Neck Library is seeking an energetic, creative, and highly motivated Teen Services Librarian to join its team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for developing and supporting engaging programs for teens and tweens ages 11+, collaborating with a dynamic team of librarians across departments, and providing excellent customer service. The library’s current teen programming focuses on gaming, social engagement, and crafting. Derby Neck Library welcomes candidates who bring their own unique interests and perspectives to help meet the diverse needs of its vibrant community of learners, makers, and doers.
This position requires substantial patron interaction, including circulation desk coverage and readers’ advisory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates with a demonstrated history of program and event development and promotion are strongly encouraged to apply. Must have experience with Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer usage. Experience with social media, newsletters, survey development, digital content creation, and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator) is highly desirable. Bilingual language skills in Spanish also highly desirable. MLS/MLIS complete or in progress is required.

Compensation: Starting salary of $52,515 per year; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits; simple IRA retirement plan with employer-matching contributions up to 3% after 1 year employment; tuition reimbursement after 1 year employment; paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal PTO.
