The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library seeks a fulltime Children's Services Librarian to oversee all aspects of our Children’s Department and provide library services for children, birth through grade 8.
The successful candidate will have experience working with young children and children’s literature, be creative, self-directed with a strong work ethic, have a collaborative work style, and the ability to maintain a welcoming and positive environment for children and families.
The candidate will be expected to develop and implement a variety of programs and activities for children, engage in community outreach, and manage collection development and maintenance. Strong communication and budgeting skills along with a proficiency with technology applications is required.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children’s library services, children’s literature and reference resources, and online searching preferred. Some supervisory experience necessary.
35 hours/week, including daytime, evening and weekend hours. Pay range for successful candidate: $51,594 -$69,426 depending on qualifications and experience, with a comprehensive town benefits package.
