Library Director - Rocky Hill Library

The Town of Rocky Hill, nestled along the picturesque Connecticut River, is actively seeking a forward-thinking, collaborative, and strategic leader to step into the role of Library Director. Steeped in history, our community's commitment to education is exemplified by the establishment of our library in 1794. Serving a population of 22,000, the Library Director will oversee a substantial budget and lead a dedicated team of full-time and part-time staff. The Library Director plays a pivotal role in leading our library towards a future of growth, innovation, and enrichment. Key Priorities:

  • Serve as the visionary leader of the Rocky Hill Library, cultivating a culture of innovation and creativity. Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in library services.
  • Oversee the library's budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial sustainability.
  • Establish a productive rapport and positive relationships with all stakeholders, including library patrons, the Library Advisory Board and The Friends of the Library, as well as the Town Council, Board of Education, Senior Services and other Town Officials. Made a concerted effort to be an engaging presence in all the communities the library serves. Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility within the library and its programs. Through engaged, supportive leadership and effective performance management, foster a work climate of professionalism and collegiality.

Competitive compensation and benefits package, including a salary ranging from $100,000-$130,000.
