Do you enjoy working with children, families, and tweens—and believe libraries should be joyful, welcoming places to learn and explore? Due to a promotion, Perrot Memorial Library is seeking a Library Technical Assistant to join our Youth Services team, supporting the day-to-day operations that make our youth spaces vibrant, organized, and inviting. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves public service and who thrives in an active, people-centered environment.
About the Role: As part of our Youth Services team, you’ll work closely with librarians to support collections, programs, and services for children and young adults. Your work will blend behind-the-scenes technical tasks with front-line service—helping young patrons and their caregivers find materials, use library technology, and feel at home in the library. No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential. You may assist across service areas as part of a cooperative, supportive team.
What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking someone who:
- Enjoys working with children, tweens, and families in a public setting
- Is patient, friendly, and confident interacting with the public
- Is comfortable using computers, databases, and library technologies
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
- Works well independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications: College coursework in library science, computer science, or a related field and relevant library experience OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to succeed in this role.
