The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon seeks a motivated, tech-savvy, creative Community Engagement Coordinator, who will implement our marketing and communications strategy and support adult programming. The Community Engagement Coordinator is a key team member who collaborates with the Development & Events Coordinator and Head of Children’s Services to support our robust slate of programs and fundraising events.
The ideal candidate will have imagination and curiosity, demonstrated graphic design experience, strong technology skills, excellent spoken and written communications skills, an attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and work both independently and with a team, and enjoy working with the public.
Marketing duties include managing our promotional channels via Constant Contact, social media, YouTube, and our WordPress website; designing and sending our weekly eBlasts for both families and adults; drafting and sending press releases; coordinating the publication of our annual newsletter; maintaining our website events calendar; designing promotional materials, both print and digital, for all library programs and special events; designing signage for library special events; recording and maintaining social media and website statistics; and coordinating advertising with media outlets.
Programming duties include overseeing the registration process; managing Zoom; working with Library Director to recruit presenters and plan library programs, including those in collaboration with other libraries and organizations; recording and maintaining attendance statistics; and running audio-visual systems.
Experience with WordPress, Events Calendar, Constant Contact, Canva, or other similar graphic design software, required.
This position is 20 -24 hours per week, with some evening and weekend hours, some of which can be done remotely. $22 to $24 per hour depending on experience.
