Wilton Library is seeking a part-time adult reference librarian who has experience in public libraries. Responsibilities focus on providing exemplary customer service to patrons, which may entail readers’ advisory services and instruction on technology and digital resources.
This part-time position includes an average of 4-10 scheduled hours per week primarily including evenings and weekends, as well as additional substitute hours as needed.
Qualifications: Knowledge of literature and library services. Proficiency in the use of current and emerging technology. Knowledge of Polaris ILS system and Library Calendar a plus. Exceptional digital literacy, computer software and database research skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, good communication skills, ability to interact with staff and patrons in a collaborative environment, and use of independent judgement.
Education and Training Required: Holds a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited institution. Must enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities. This position pays $34.00/hour.
