About the role: Perrot Memorial Library—a beloved neighborhood gem serving generations of families in Old Greenwich—is seeking a creative, energetic, and child-centered professional to join our Youth Services team! As our Early Literacy Program Specialist, you’ll help design and lead engaging programs that spark a lifelong love of reading and learning. You’ll use your passion for books, music, storytelling, and play to nurture curiosity and connection among young children and their caregivers.
Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week
Salary: $30.00-$33.00 per hour
What you'll do:
- Plan and present dynamic early literacy programs that incorporate outstanding children’s literature, storytelling, music, and movement.
- Inspire families to share the joy of reading together through interactive storytimes.
- Support parents, caregivers, and educators by modeling literacy techniques and offering reading guidance.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to children and families in the Youth Services department.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to build a warm, inclusive, and inspiring library experience for all.
