The Groton Public Library seeks a Project Archivist to perform archival appraisal, arrangement, and description of archival collection(s) in the Groton Local History room. The duties will include identifying records in need of preservation and provide direction to local history volunteers and part-time staff. This position will assist with creation of historical exhibits and educational tours of the Jabez Smith House, a property of the Town of Groton.
Preferred qualifications include a MLS, MLIS, or MS from an ALA Accredited program of Library and/or Information Science. Coursework in archival administration, prior experience in a museum or special collection/archives setting, and experience with archival management software.
This is a one year, grant funded position (with possibility of renewal). Part-Time, up to 18 hours per week, beginning September 2025-June 30th, 2026. Salary range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (dependent on qualifications).
