Town Librarian (Part-time) - Bracken Memorial Library at Woodstock Academy

Key Responsibilities: The town librarian will be responsible for operating the library during the public hours of the Bracken Memorial Library at the Woodstock Academy. Duties include checking books in and out, renewing materials, and answering questions regarding library accounts and borrowing privileges. They will also assist in the development and implementation of library programming and suggest books to the Woodstock Academy librarian for ordering based on the needs and interests of the community.

Qualifications: Prior library experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting, demonstrating a positive attitude, integrity, and a cooperative approach to all tasks. They should exhibit excellent communication, organization, interpersonal skills, and flexibility to manage a variety of tasks and situations.

The town librarian must complete all mandatory training as required by The Woodstock Academy, including but not limited to sexual harassment training, mandated reporting, and other state-required certifications and complete all required background checks and registration with the Department of Children and Families.

Hours: This is a part-time position, 8-10 hours per week. Mondays and Wednesdays 5-7 and Saturdays 10-2. Summer hours may vary.

Hourly rate: $20-25 per hour depending on experience.
