Due to retirement, the Trumbull Library is seeking an experienced librarian to fill the position of Assistant Library System Director. The ideal candidate will have experience in budgeting and financial management, a track record of gradually responsible leadership roles, a knack for problem solving, and excellent organizational skills and attention to details. Managing a budget of $2.1 million in municipal and private funds, this position works closely with the Director, Associate Director, and other department heads, ensuring that the library meets its fiscal deadlines and obligations. In addition, this position is involved in collection development, building operations, and personnel management. The Assistant Director is an active participant in forming and achieving the vision for the library’s collections, culture, programs, and services. They liaise with the Library Board and other town administrative bodies, municipal departments, the State Library, and various vendors. In the event of an absence, the Assistant Director must be able to serve as Library Director.
