Primary Functions:
This
is a professional position beyond entry-level. Incumbents are expected
to have acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to
perform the positions requirements at a full level of competence.
The
current vacant assignment entails implementing collaborative and active
learning strategies and programs for small businesses, entrepreneurs,
nonprofits, and adult lifelong learners; offering workshops and
one-on-one instruction in business research, creative software
applications (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), entrepreneurship, and business
growth; fostering collaborative partnerships within the New Haven
economic ecosystem; raising awareness about resources and services in
the library through outreach efforts; managing a special collection of
resources for entrepreneurs and nonprofits; and providing innovative
information services to meet the needs of a diverse, urban adult
population.
The successful candidate will be current with the latest
library, business, and technology trends; have previous experience
working directly with small businesses and nonprofits; provide reference
services, career resources, and become familiar with basic small scale
manufacturing makerspace technologies with training; foster
collaboration between makerspace and entrepreneurial opportunities; have
excellent communication and interpersonal skills; maintain a
professional commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; and value

Salary within Local 3144 Range 7: $56,687 – $59,586 annualized
This
role requires a Masters degree in Library Science from an American
Library Association accredited library school, and 2+ years experience
in professional library work.
