Rowayton Library is seeking a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic full-time (35 hours) Development and Communications Manager. A successful candidate must be a reliable, self-motivated team player, who is also able to work independently, has an engaging attitude, and enjoys working with patrons of all ages.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Primarily working on updating Constant Contact and social media sites. Providing excellent customer service at the circulation desk. Working at the front desk. Shelving materials and pulling materials for hold requests. Providing reader advisory assistance for patrons. Answering patron inquiries. Assisting patrons with access to the collection and resources. Assist with planning and overseeing of programming.
Qualifications: Masters and Library Science Degree preferred but not required. Proficient with Microsoft Suite. Proficient with Social Media. Experience with the ILS Evergreen preferred. Demonstrated ability of delivering excellent customer service. Knowledge of literature and reading interests. Ability to think on your feet, manage time well, multi-task, and work with frequent interruptions. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Hours for May through September include: Mon & Tue 10am-5:30pm, Wed 10am-1pm, Thu 1pm-8:30pm (during New Yorker Program) or 10am-5:30pm (after New Yorker Program ends), Fri 10am-5:30pm.
The ability to fill-in and cover for other shifts including weekends when needed will be an important consideration.
$20/hour; 35 hours per week during regular hours.
