Librarian 1, State Library - Connecticut State Library Division of Library Development, Middletown

The Connecticut State Library has an available opportunity for a Librarian 1 - State Library within the Division of Library Development at the Middletown Library Service Center.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
First Shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Hybrid (a combination of in-office/telework based on operational need).
Location: Middletown, CT
Salary: $74,750* - $96,734/year (*Employees new to state service start at the minimum)

THE ROLE: As part of the Division of Library Development, Middletown Library Service Center, the Librarian 1 - State Library is responsible for providing library circulation services to 270 Connecticut public and school libraries. The successful candidate will also work with the entire Division of Library Development staff for programming, Division services, outreach, and special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in library science or information science from a library school accredited by the American Library Association.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience providing circulation services to library patrons. Experience with inter-library loan procedures. Experience providing customer service to library patrons. Experience with working in a public library, specifically with children's and young adults. Experience collaborating with internal and external customers using both written and verbal communication.
