The Hamden Public Library is looking for a person who finds joy in serving the public at a variety of public service desks. You are not necessarily a Children's or Teen librarian, but to you, engaging with young minds is rewarding and inspiring. You may not always be at the Reference Desk, but you find true satisfaction helping anyone figure out a problem. While technology may not be your main focus, you enjoy that light bulb moment when someone understands a new digital skill. To you, programming sounds like a chance to involve people in exploring curiosity and culture.
This is a Librarian 1 position created by an internal promotion. We invite MLIS students and anyone with a MLIS to apply for this opportunity. MLIS students: Along with your application, make sure to submit a plan of course completion within 18 months of taking this job.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week, with one evening a week and a full Saturday every third week. When staff work Saturday, they are off on Friday. Library staff is represented by AFSME 1303. Compensation currently starts at: $61,133.21.
