User Experience Library Technician – Richmond Memorial Library, Marlborough

The Richmond Memorial Library in Marlborough is seeking a part time User Experience Library Technician for approximately 15-17 hours a week, divided between three weekday shifts, including at least one morning and one evening a week, plus at least one additional Saturday shift as part of a four week rotation.

A Bachelor’s degree and customer service background are required, and the ideal candidate will have familiarity with an ILS, preferably the Sierra software system.

Some of the job responsibilities include: checking library materials in and out, placing holds for patrons, answering ready reference questions, helping patrons with computer issues, teaching computer and technology classes as well as running technology programs, participating in outreach initiatives and developing community partnerships (with an emphasis on computer and technology outreach), and heading our homebound delivery service (which includes not only the delivery of library materials but assisting homebound library users with devices and library apps).

This position is technology oriented and applicants must be comfortable with learning and teaching new technology to library users. Due to the nature of this position, applicants must have their own reliable vehicle.
