Due to a promotion, the Trumbull Library System seeks a librarian that loves working with children and teens and understands that encouraging youth literacy means emphasizing the fun. The job: The Youth Services Coordinator has overall responsibility for the Youth Services Department (0-17 yrs.), managing a seasonally busy service desk and supervising two full-time and one part-time staff in the operation and maintenance of the department. The position is responsible for the collection development of youth materials and for the development of early literacy programs. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with other library staff to provide youth and family programming.
Qualified candidate must possess highly effective interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and energetic. Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills needed. Supervisory experience preferred.
Minimum Requirements: ALA accredited MLS. Three years of library experience, one of which must be in Youth Services (0-18 yrs.).
