Part-Time Library Assistant - Killingworth Library Association

Responsibilities: Killingworth is a small library where staff members assist in a variety of roles as needed. This position would involve circulation, answering reference or technology questions from patrons, weeding, assisting with programming, and opening/closing the building. This would be an ideal job for a library science student, as there will be the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of library operations.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Library education or experience strongly preferred. Strong computer skills, and the ability to adapt to new software, are a must. This job involves working with patrons of all ages, so effective communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential. Interest in running library programs a plus.

Hours: Approximately 14 hours per week. Two positions are available; one will mainly be scheduled for weekday evenings, and the other for mornings, including Saturdays. Hours may vary depending on coverage needs; a candidate with flexible availability is preferred. Starting wage is between $16 and $18, depending on experience.
