The West Hartford Public Library, located in a vibrant and engaged community that celebrates diversity and maintains a welcoming atmosphere to all visitors, seeks an energetic and enthusiastic library professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for providing exemplary customer service. There will be a set schedule of daytime hours and possible substitute shifts primarily evenings and weekends in any of our three library buildings. This position requires a complete and current knowledge of children’s literature and a proficiency in performing reader’s advisory and reference services to a sophisticated community of young readers ages infant through twelve years of age.
Minimum requirements: Candidates must hold an MLS degree from an ALA accredited university and a minimum of one year’s experience working as a children’s librarian.
Salary: $35.18/hour. Sick Leave is provided consistent with State of Connecticut regulations, but there are no other benefits associated with this position.
