Part-Time Librarian (Multiple Vacancies) – New Haven Free Public Library

This position requires a Masters Degree in Library Science from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association. Library Science students within 1 semester of completing their coursework at an ALA-accredited institution will be considered for employment at the rate of $18/hour, to be updated to the full $21/hour upon completion of their MLIS degree program.

Rate of Pay: $18/hour (MLIS students); $21/hour (MLIS graduates)
Hours: Part time, 19 hours/week | This position does not offer benefits.

The New Haven Free Public Library is seeking part-time librarians in multiple departments. This position is an amazing opportunity for current librarians looking for extra experience or Library Science students nearing graduation who are interested in getting hands-on experience in a vibrant urban library setting. Assignment in Young Minds and Family Learning (2 vacancies):
This entails developing and delivering programs for children age 0-12 with an emphasis on early childhood programming, with a strong knowledge of children's literature, and providing a variety of information services for parents and children.

Assignment in Adult Services (1 vacancy):
Will support the Adult Services department on public service desks, delivering world-class customer service. The ideal candidate will have programming and collection management experience, creativity, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; maintain a professional commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; and value teamwork.
