Librarian, Youth Services (Part-time) - Perrot Memorial Library, Old Greenwich

Salary: $27.00 Hourly
Closing: 3/12/2024 4:00 PM Eastern

General Statement of Duties: Develops and plans library programs and events for tweens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13-17) in the Youth Services Department of Perrot Library. Reports to the Head of Youth Services.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Library Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university plus experience in library services for tweens and teens.

Qualifications: Knowledge of children’s and young adult literature and current materials being published in all formats. Knowledge of professional library principles, methods, materials and administrative practices. Skilled in the operation of a wide variety of computer, audiovisual and office equipment related to library operations including the use of computer hardware and a variety of office and library software programs. Ability to interact and communicate effectively and tactfully with children, young adults and adults. Ability to work well with volunteer and community groups. Ability to work independently and with other team members to carry out all of the tasks.
