Library Assistant – Andrew Mellon Library, Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford

Andrew Mellon Library seeks a friendly, service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills to provide high quality library service to Choate Rosemary Hall members. Candidate must be able to juggle priorities, work independently, attend to detail, and be a welcoming presence in the library. The main responsibility of the library assistant involves supporting Faculty Librarians in numerous library tasks, including managing the ASK US desk, undertaking a variety of library and office tasks, and supporting student inquires. The assistant will independently assist patron inquires, help library patrons with borrowing books, media, addresses problems with library computers, borrowed equipment, copiers, and other technological devices, escalating unresolved issues, as necessary. Additionally, the assistant engages in additional relevant tasks and contributes to special projects when required.

The hours:
Saturdays 11am-3pm
Sunday Evening 5:30pm-9:30pm
Monday 5:30pm-9:30pm
Wednesday 5:30pm-9:30pm
Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm

Requirements: Associate degree or some college courses completed. 2 years preferred experience working in a school library or youth library setting.
