Associate Librarian (Part-time) - Greenwich Library

Salary: $38.27 Hourly
Closing 2/15/2024 4:00 Eastern

General Statement of Duties: Oversees assigned areas of professional library operations and programming. Reports to a Librarian III, Branch Librarian, or Library Manager.

***Currently there are two areas for assignment: Technology and Youth Services***

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Library Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university, plus experience in professional library work. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra and BiblioCommons preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provides reference and readers’ advisory services to library patrons of all ages using library resources in all formats. Communicates the practices and policies of the library to patrons. Participates in collection development, curation, and cataloging. Analyzes circulation trends and makes recommendations to enhance library collections. Assists patrons and staff with library technology. Coordinates and conducts library programming for all ages. Prepares displays, exhibits, book lists, and blogs. Serves as liaison to schools or other community groups on behalf of the library. Coordinates with database vendors and periodical distributors to provide patrons with electronic information and print materials. Performs circulation functions as needed, including creation of new library cards, checking materials in and out, etc. Supports Town policies and philosophies. Performs related work as required.
