Assistant Children’s Librarian (F/T) - Woodbury Public Library

The Woodbury Public Library Assistant Children’s Librarian is responsible to assist in planning and implementing services for children from birth to age 12 and to provide the public with circulation and information services.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Two years of public library experience in children’s services required. Must have direct work experience with children within the past five (5) years. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of children’s literature. Must enjoy working with and respect children and have knowledge of automated library systems. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public, co-workers, and professional colleagues from other institutions. Ability to perform under pressure with patience, flexibility, and good humor and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skilled in Microsoft Office suite, Publisher and Canva, a plus. Must have social media skills and knowledge.

The position is full-time with health insurance benefits and is considered a non-exempt, union position working 35 hours a week, which includes some evening and weekend hours. The pay rate is $23.00 per hour. Application deadline is Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
