Position Focus: The Web Content Lead facilitates and ensures the delivery of web content that is engaging, accurate, and easy to use by coordinating web projects, building strong relationships with colleagues, and maintaining web content. As a key member of the library's Web Team, the incumbent will work closely with colleagues on the team to advance the library web presence by partnering to define goals, outcomes, and technical requirements. Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Administration and IT, the Web Content Lead will work with the Web Team to contextualize web content within the library's web strategy.
The Web Content Lead oversees content creation, editing, and production to optimize user engagement while maintaining consistency and accessibility across online touchpoints by articulating content plans and utilizing a centralized taxonomy. The incumbent's expertise will guide and support web authors and editors in adhering to writing standards and digital content best practices.
In addition to content management, the Web Content Lead will oversee the content lifecycle, ensuring regular updates and alignment with best practices. Collaborating with designers and developers, the incumbent will contribute to quality assurance testing and oversee the final deployment of web development projects. The Web Content Lead's role will be crucial in driving successful web projects from planning to publication.
Depending on professional background, the final candidate will be hired as a Managerial & Professional Staff Employee (Grade 25) or as a Librarian 3 to 5. Librarian ranking information can be found HERE.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills/Abilities: (1) Demonstrated ability designing and implementing web content and content strategy. Excellent writing and editing skills for web and mobile content. Ability to synthesize complex concepts for general audiences. Strong copyediting and proofreading skills. (2) Excellent customer service skills and commitment to excellence. Flexibility and creativity in providing customer satisfaction. Strong commitment to innovation and creativity in services. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues having different goals, responsibilities, and areas of expertise. (3) Strong understanding of UX and accessibility principles. Leadership experience in applying UX and accessibility to websites. Familiarity with web analytics, mobile design, and designing for accessibility. Knowledge of user-centered design and Drupal content management system. (4) Demonstrated project management skills for complex projects. Effective communication and negotiation with clients and stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations. Ability to oversee production timelines and align web content with institutional communications strategy. (5) Familiarity with web technologies, CMS, UI/UX principles, SEO, and digital marketing. Front-end web development skills (HTML/CSS) and knowledge of JavaScript. Experience collaborating with diverse groups in a complex organization. Strong analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills.
