Professional person for public library responsible for maintaining database records, processing materials, producing statistics reports, attending meetings and cooperating with all library departments and regional consortium, providing reference service to the public, data entry, and overseeing department workflow. Works under general supervision of Library Director or other professional library staff.
Forty (40) hours per week; regular night and Saturday rotation; fringe benefit package; union position. Subject to pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and background check. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
Requirements: Master’s in Library Science plus two years’ experience in library services, experience in technical services preferred. Familiarity with cataloging practices and standards, thorough knowledge of MARC records and library-related databases and ability to provide reference and circulation services required. Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills. Familiarity with Sierra system preferred.
