Middle School and High School Library Media Specialist - Plymouth Public Schools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Connecticut certification as a Librarian or Media Specialist (062)

GENERAL DUTIES: To provide instruction, leadership, direction, and library media services on a system-wide basis. To provide centralized technical and production services for the school district. To demonstrate professional responsibility to the school system and the teaching profession. To collaborate with and coach teaching staff on best instructional practices including research and technology. To establish positive working relationships with students, parents, school personnel and the community. To provide instruction and supervision of assigned programs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Instruction: To conduct orientation classes for freshman. To provide instruction to high school classes upon request. To coach teachers on the integration of instructional technology and research methods including the application of online databases. To support students with online learning.
  • Technical Services: To train and supervise the staff of the technical services section. To develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures for the technical services section. To provide training for faculty and staff in the use of equipment. To serve as a resource person for instructional staff in the selection and purchase of supplementary, curriculum materials. To develop Grades 6 – 12 curriculum around library media and technology standards.

SALARY: PEA Contract Commensurate with Experience
