FULL TIME LIBRARIAN I, YOUTH SERVICES
The
Meriden Public Library is seeking a friendly, customer-service driven
full-time Librarian I to join its team in the Youth Services Department.
This position is professional, entry level library work. Do you enjoy
working with children? Does presenting storytime brighten your day? Are
you excited by programming and building connections within the
community? If so, consider joining the Youth Services department at the
Meriden Public Library. This position requires knowledge of children’s
literature and reading interests, an understanding of early childhood
development and learning, and the ability to relate to children and
adults. The core responsibilities include assisting the Head of Youth
Services in collection development, programming, marketing of services
to the public, readers’ advisory, and performing outreach through
community agencies and schools. In addition, the Children’s Librarian
may represent the Library in collaborative projects with local and
regional partners. May supervise lower level positions. Weekend and
evening hours are required. May also be assigned to work in other
departments within the library.
FULL TIME LIBRARIAN I, ADULT REFERENCE
The
Meriden Public Library is seeking a friendly, customer-service driven
full-time Librarian I to join its team in the Adult Services Department.
This position is professional, entry level library work. This position
works
closely with the public to provide collection development, reference,
readers’ advisory and referral services, as well as access to technology
and electronic resources. Evening and weekend hours are required. May
supervise lower level positions. May also be assigned to work in
other departments within the library.
FULL TIME LIBRARIAN I, COMMUNITY SERVICES
The
Meriden Public Library is seeking a friendly, customer-service driven
full-time Librarian I to join its team
in the Community Services Department. This position is
professional, entry level library work. Assists department head in all
community and outreach endeavors, including developing, planning,
promoting, and directing programs and events for
diverse populations. Assists in determining needs, building
community relations and coordinating outreach projects. Assists in
scheduling meeting rooms for internal and outside groups. May supervise
lower level positions. Evening and weekend
hours are required. May also be assigned to work in other
departments within the library.
QUALIFICATIONS - A Masters of Library Science Degree from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university supplemented by graduate level courses which will lead to the Master of Library Science Degree within two years of employment. Must be able to provide friendly, high quality customer service.
HOURS – 40 hours/week
HIRING SALARY RANGE - $58,115.20 – 83,179.20
