Salary: $27.00 Hourly
General Statement of Duties: Assist, advise and instruct patrons in the use of library materials, print and electronic resources. Provides technical support for patrons using public computers and other electronic devices. Provides reference and readers advisory services to users of all ages.
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university. Two years of work experience in reference service of a public library is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of professional library principles, methods, materials and administrative practices. Familiarity with digital collections. Proven ability to work with range of library databases for patrons of all ages. Strong interpersonal and reference interview skills. Demonstrated technology and computer skills. Familiarity with social media. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages. Ability to keep current with rapidly changing technologies. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital services.
