The Windsor Public Library is seeking a knowledgeable, part-time librarian to work in our busy technical services department. Responsibilities include copy cataloging of children’s print materials.
Our ideal candidate will have experience with copy cataloging; ability to manage multiple priorities and shift production focus when requested; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; enthusiastic; passionate about literacy; team-spirited, motivated, and organized; communicates effectively orally and in writing with diverse customers and coworkers; and be able to work in a fast paced, customer service environment with patience, flexibility and attention to detail.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science with two (2) or more years of public library cataloging experience; experience with standard MARC21 format; knowledge of RDA/AACR2 cataloging guidelines, Dewey Decimal Classification, LCSH; proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet, and other programs as needed; familiarity with specific applications (i.e. Innovative Interfaces ILS, Excel and Publisher), Schedule flexible 8-10 hours/week.
Salary is $22.00-$25.00/hour depending on experience.
