The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon, CT seeks an enthusiastic Head of Children’s Services. The Library is undergoing a $3.2 million renovation, accessibility, and expansion project. We are updating our historic facility with the latest in technology, a beautiful new Children’s Reading Room, and a new multi-purpose programming room. Our ideal candidate is a creative, customer service-oriented, collaborative, and flexible individual, who will plan and implement programs for children of all ages and also curate our children’s collection. The Head of Children’s Services must have strong technology skills; excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to connect with patrons of all ages. Experience with children is required and the Bibliomation ILMS, Evergreen, is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be available for 18 to 28 hours per week, through August 2023 while a staff member is on maternity leave and the library moves into its expanded facility. Hours may decrease to 18 hours per week in Fall 2023. $20 to $22 per hour, based on experience. Please refer to detailed job description HERE.
