Public
Library of New London seeks a creative, outgoing, and community-minded
candidate to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate,
plan and organize programs for adults in accordance with the Library’s
mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, designs, and
produces public programs aimed at a wide audience. Writes press
releases, creates email blasts, and generates marketing materials.
Provides direct assistance and support to Library patrons during Library
programs. Collaborates with all departments and community partners.
Maintains strong working relationships with community members and local
organizations to ensure programs reflect community interests.
Coordinate/lead book discussions. Cover busy information desk and
outreach when needed. Teach electronic literacy classes. Creates flyers
and distributes them to community partners and local businesses. Perform
other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Four-year
college degree from an accredited college/university required.
Marketing experience and bilingual candidate preferred. Familiarity with
community resources. Strong computer and technology skills. Ability to
work independently. Ability to relate to the public in a positive
manner. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
This is a 35 hour a week, full-time position at $18-$20/hour (depending
on experience) with a variable schedule that includes daytime, evenings
and Saturdays. The selected candidate will report to the Head of
Information Services. There is a benefit package with this position,
including health insurance, vacation days, sick days and a 403(B)
