seeks to fill a position for a full-time library media specialist
position for the 2022-23 school year at Norfeldt Elementary School.
Requirement: Valid CT Certification (062).
Qualifications:
Must have experience working with elementary school students. Must have
strong background in an automated library environment including
proficiency with digital resources and knowledge in the area of
children’s literature. Must have knowledge of operations of library as a
multi-media center. Must have knowledge of relevant, current print and
digital resources that supplement the curriculum across content areas.
Duties and responsibilities
include but not limited to: Instruct students in implementation of new
technology literacy and the formal integration of research skills across
the curriculum. Collaborate with classroom teachers in planning,
implementing and assessing instruction. Creation of a culture of
literacy and life-long reading across the school, in collaboration with
teachers in each content area. Evaluate, prepare and select resources
for the Library Media Center. Develop a short and long-range plan to
provide formal training in technology.
