The
James Blackstone Memorial Library is looking for an energetic and
enthusiastic Teen Librarian to join our team. Duties include:
developing, implementing, and evaluating the overall teen services
program; including the Teen Space, developing the materials collection,
including the print and non-print collection with high interest and
dynamic items that meet the teen community’s needs, running the Teen
Advisory Groups, planning and running teen programs, developing
relationships with community organizations that support teen services
and conducting outreach, attending conferences and workshops, and
working collaboratively with the Youth Services team to help provide
services and programs for children from time to time.
Reporting
to the Associate Librarian for Youth Services, the successful candidate
must have a Master of Library Science/Library Information Science degree
from an ALA-accredited program is required, along with demonstrated
success working with teens. The successful candidate for this position
will have outstanding customer service skills, strong oral and written
communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for teenagers and
outreach, along with the ability to work collaboratively. Flexibility
and the ability to thrive in a constantly evolving work environment is
also essential. This position is 40 hours/week; includes benefits.
Schedule includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. $25-27/hour.
