Teens
need libraries and libraries need teens. Hamden Public Library is
seeking a person who enjoys the energy, aspirations, and development of
teenagers. Our dedicated teen space is waiting for your enthusiastic
approach to building teen programming, various collections, and
partnerships. We know it takes time and dedication to build the trusting
relationships necessary for successful teen services and are seeking a
candidate who knows how important it is to be a strong advocate for teen
patrons.
This position has been upgraded from a Librarian I to a
Librarian II position after an internal promotion. While this position
is an advanced librarian job, we are most interested in people who have
experience and enjoy working with teens.
If you meet the above
criteria and have a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited
university and previous experience working with and developing programs
for teens, or are a certified Media Specialist, then you are encouraged
to apply. Considerations will be made for candidates who are working
toward completing a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited
institution and have previous experience working with and developing
programs for teens. This experience does not have to be within a library
setting.
