Client Experience Consultant – Trinity College Raether Library & Information Technology Center, Hartford, CT

Trinity College’s Raether Library & Information Technology Center is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual for the position of Client Experience Consultant (Full Time, 35 Hours Per Week). This position supports the Library and Information Technology Desk: a combined library circulation, IT helpdesk and ID card office.
     Position Summary: The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting all services at a busy Desk operation, such as processing Library and Information Technology Services tickets; ensuring that phone, email, and web requests are appropriately handled; assisting clients with technology issues; circulating materials; document delivery, course reserves, interlibrary loans, managing and coordinating urgent and complicated support issues; basic oversight of building operations such as safety and cleanliness; responding to questions regarding IT, ID card and library services, policies, and procedures; and assist in the training, mentoring and supervising of student consultants.
     The ideal candidate will have: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well in fast-paced and stressful environments. Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize work. Excellent human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Effective communication (written and oral) skills. Ability to evaluate information, interpret and analyze data, and develop reports. Ability to uphold a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality. Familiar with technology, especially in an academic environment, knowledge of computing/database skills, and comfortable troubleshooting issues with Mac OS and windows computers, printers, applications, databases, and WIFI. Flexible with scheduling and able to work evenings.
     Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Library, IT, or customer experience.
