Part-time Acquisitions/Tech Services Librarian (19.0 hrs/wk) - The Windsor Locks Public Library

The Windsor Locks Public Library seeks a Part-time Acquisitions/Tech Services Librarian (19.0 hrs/wk) - Immediate opening. Daytime/evening and rotating Saturday shifts required. Experience or coursework in collection development, acquisition organization, maintenance and withdrawal of materials is preferred. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting computer hardware/software and IT issues. Experience with WIX or other website platforms for updates and maintenance a plus. Working knowledge and experience with Sierra (III) or other ILS. Some supervisory, customer service experience, and a sense of humor is preferred.
     Participates in special library projects, and assists in other departments as needed. Creativity and ability to produce library marketing materials. Shared responsibility for overseeing daily opening and closing procedures, and directs staff on occasion in the absence of the Director.
      Candidate must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The successful candidate should have a firm understanding of and respect for the amalgamation of the individual library services to provide a strong & positive library experience to meet the community’s needs. 
     RESPONSIBILE FOR: Materials selection for development of the library’s adult collection utilizing various vendors in collaboration with the Adult Services librarian; acquisition process, preparing and reconciling all library materials invoices; maintaining materials budget information; work closely with the Cataloger; generating various library statistics and reports; collaborating and/or implementing creative adult programming; and training for patrons and staff in technology as needed. Not illustrative of all duties and responsibilities.

      SALARY: Hourly rate CLA Minimum.
