The
John P. Webster Library (JPWL) at First Church, West Hartford, CT seeks
a part-time Library Assistant. A lively gathering place of spiritual
formation and fellowship, the JPWL offers programs consistent with the
progressive faith of First Church, and is open to the public. Candidates
should be tech-savvy, creative, and self-motivated, with a warm,
welcoming presence, a sense of humor, and a commitment to
intergenerational customer service and hospitality. This position
requires strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability
to multitask and manage changing priorities. In addition to circulation
desk duties, the Library Assistant is also available for tech support
and trouble-shooting for Library patrons.
MLS, two years’
library experience preferred, cataloging skills essential. Experience
with Evergreen, Microsoft Office a plus. Approx. 25 weekday hours,
Monday – Thursday; two Sundays per month required. Additional evening
and weekend hours may also be required for special programs. Salary
